City Readies $26M Freedom Park Sports Complex

LAS VEGAS-The new facilities, due to open this month, are a public-private venture with Chino, CA-based developer Big League Dreams.

LAS VEGAS-The City of Las Vegas is set to open approximately $26 million of new sports park facilities this month at Freedom Park, where it is developing the facilities in a public-private venture with Chino, CA-based developer Big League Dreams. The new development will feature six fields that are replicas of major league baseball parks, along with two restaurants, an indoor sports area, batting cages and volleyball courts.

Big League Dreams will hire 175 workers to staff the facilities at Freedom Park, which is at 850 N. Mojave Rd., according to the city, which held job fairs for the new facilities at the park in December. The Big League Dreams complex is a part of the city’s overall $47.2 million plan to upgrade the 68-acre Freedom Park.

In the spring, a new $5.3 million swimming pool is expected to open at Freedom Park. There also are plans for two new soccer fields and to redo the park’s walking trails.
