Hartford Life will consolidate its holdings in Simsbury CT "through a transfer of surrounding properties from its affiliated entity, HARCO Property Services, Inc." according to a release. McCarter & English handled the all-cash transaction for Hartford Life. "The greatest challenge [for the deal] was that a lot has changed in 25 years in how real estate deals are done, some many things were not anticipated [from the original deal] that needed to be worked out," explains John Mallin, the practice group leader for McCarter & English's Real Estate Practice Group.

The property was constructed in 1984, which is when Hartford Life moved in and began its lease, culminating in the eventual purchase the building as its sole tenant. McCarter & English's attorneys, Mallin and Jessica Villardi, assisted by Charli Ray, Jane Warren, Tiffany Stevens, Matt Weiner and Kim Chudzik closed the deal for Hartford Life.
