HSB Real Estate Advisory Services' Benedetto

The director of real estate has grown his dad-centric website from the ground up.

On day number two of this year’s Memorial Day weekend, Christian M. Benedetto Jr.’s wife Suzy suggested that he get a hobby. “Apparently watching the House marathon or the History channel, while emailing clients from my blackberry, did not qualify; nor did reading our then 14-month-old son the Bill of Rights or teaching the dog to catch food in her mouth from the table,” jokes the director of real estate at Hopkins Sampson & Brown Real Estate Advisory Services, LLC in Newark.

“Getting an actual hobby made no sense to me, but since my wife is right 99.99% of the time, I figured it was just easier to get one and then figure out why I needed it later,” he adds.

Benedetto considered his options. “Tennis seemed too much like work. Golf? Too hot. Bare-knuckle boxing? I was too old,” he admits, but the real estate veteran did have a number of unpublished poems lying around, written for his wife and new son, Christian M. Benedetto III, who was born on Mar. 31, 2008.
