"As a result of a repositioning initiative launched last year and the high volume of foot traffic generated by the ShopRite, Riverfront Plaza has emerged as a modern retail properties that caters to local residents and their wide variety of convenience and service needs," says Stephen L. Hittman, Crossroads' president and founder, who has been engaged over the course of a multi-decade career in the development, management and leasing of commercial properties.

Recently, long-term leases were signed with Blockbuster, Subway, Talk of the Town Video, Water Depot and Verizon Wireless. Additional tenants who renewed leases on a long-term basis include Chase Bank, GNC, Mandee, Radio Shack, Supercuts and several local tenants, including Taste of Tuscany and Frontier Liquors. Crossroads is currently marketing 3,400 square feet of space to render the property fully leased.

Hackensack, which is 4.6 square miles and an inner-ring suburb of New York City, boasts a population of more than 79,000 and an average household income of more than $71,000 within a two-mile radius. The daytime population typically triples due to the city's designation as the seat of Bergen County and heightened demand for an array of goods and services. Retail is ranked fourth among the local industries behind education, health and social services; manufacturing; and professional, scientific, administrative and management services.
