Wood says his mission in San Diego will be "to grow the business and the platform here" for Voit, which has named other senior-level managers since early last year when it began to ramp up its asset services platform to take advantage of and adjust to market conditions. The new chief of Voit's San Diego operations joins the company with more than 25 years commercial real estate experience, including executive positions with Opus West Corp., Trammell Crow Co., Colliers International and Charles Dunn.

Wood notes that Voit is expanding its executive team and investing in its integrated real estate services platform "all during a time that nearly every other firm is contracting." Voit founder Robert D. Voit told GlobeSt.com last year when the company announced its renewed focus on asset services that, "At certain points in the market, such as the current conditions, as well as the period of 1989 to 1995," conditions call for a greater emphasis on asset services. He added that the company was rebranding itself as Voit Real Estate Services to signify this unification of its services into a single offering.

Along with its rebranding, Voit named former bkm Development Co. president Brian Malliet as chief operating officer. Since then, the company has hired a number of industry veterans to bolster its management team and expand its asset services platform.
