"The law firms typify the outstanding tenant base of professional firms that enhance the building's prestigious business address," says Tom D'Arcy, SVP at Hines, the company who owns the building.

Barnes & Thornburg has taken 83,000 square feet to expand its presence in Chicago. The law firm employs 90 attorneys and 70 staff. CB Richard Ellis' David Tropp represented the law firm in the deal.

Sedgwick Detert Moran & Arnold took 19,346 square feet with a medium-term lease. Studley's Rick Schuham represented the firm.

Both leases will begin in 2012. The terms and lease rates on either deal were not released.

As GlobeSt.com reported, in April 2008, Hines purchased the 51-story office tower located in the West Loop. At the time it was 98% leased to tenants including Citadel and PricewaterhouseCoopers. The current lead tenant is UBS A.G., which occupies 450,000 square feet.
