David R. Greenbaum, president of the New York office division of Vornado Realty Trust, received the Bernard H. Mendik Lifetime Leadership in Real Estate Award. Another honoree for a lifetime of achievement in commercial real estate was Samuel H. Lindenbaum, counsel at law firm Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel, who was given the Harry B. Helmsley Distinguished New Yorker Award.

This year's Louis Smadbeck Broker Recognition Award went to Robert A. Knakal, chairman of Massey Knakal Realty Services and author of the weekly "Street Wise" blog on GlobeSt.com. VP Ralph J. DiRuggiero of the Paramount Group was accorded the George M. Brooker Management Executive of the Year Award. The Kenneth R. Gerrety Humanitarian Award went to Frederick W. Peters, president of Warburg Realty Partnership, while Swig Equities SVP Todd Korren was named REBNY's Young Real Estate Man of the Year.

The evening was presided over by REBNY president Steven Spinola and chairman Mary Ann Tighe, CEO of the New York tri-state region for CB Richard Ellis. Earlier this month, Tighe began her duties as the association's first female chairman since its founding in 1896.
