C&W Closes HQ Renewal for US Shipping

EDISON, NJ-Property owner M. Alfieri Co.'s responsiveness as well as accessibility to ports and rail lines secured the long-term deal.

EDISON, NJ-US Shipping Partners L.P. has renewed its 13,000-square-foot headquarters lease at 399 Thornall St. here. Sean Brady of Cushman & Wakefield’s East Rutherford office represented the long-haul marine transportation services provider in negotiating the recommitment.

Brady initially brokered US Shipping’s lease at the M. Alfieri Co. office tower in 2003, and orchestrated an expansion just months later. He credits the latest, long-term transaction to the property’s responsive ownership.

“We looked at relocation options in the surrounding area and south to Piscataway,” Brady notes. “However, US Shipping has always been pleased with Alfieri’s responsiveness as a landlord. When it came time to discuss the renewal, the company was extremely accommodating.”
