Todd Frye, a principal with CBRE Investors, says the new certification reflects a decision two years ago to pursue LEED-EB for all buildings in its portfolio. Other buildings with the designation in the Atlanta office market are Platinum Tower, the Towers at Wildwood and Northcreek Office Park.

"Not only was it in keeping with our mission to go green, experience has shown that sustainability is a major factor for more and more companies in the decision about where to lease space," Frye says. CBRE Investors now has seven total properties with LEED certification and eight others pursuing USGBC approval.

Wildwood Center, which opened in 1987 near Interstates 75 and 285, has 679,626 square feet and current occupancy of 93%. Numerous eco-friendly measures were introduced to the building, such as efficient and optimized use of energy, with the goal of driving down operating costs and enhancing tenant productivity.
