"This move to Hopkins allows us to efficiently manage all of our cold storage requirements under one roof, just nine miles from our production facility, and with room for expansion," says Rob Linner, SVP of E.A. Sween.

The lease will allow E.A. Sween to relocate its entire frozen food distribution operation from Newport, MN and will put it closer to its headquarters facility in Eden Prairie.

As part of the deal, the Stewart Lawrence Group modified the property for E.A. Sween's specific needs.

"Together with E.A Sween Company, we have made significant upgrades to the entire building, including a new energy saving roof, loading dock and office space upgrades, automated freezer doors, technology upgrades for computerized inventory management, and energy saving interior and exterior lighting retrofits," says Stew Stender, partner at the Stewart Lawrence Group.

The 275,000-square-foot Hopkins Cold Storage building sits on 17 acres on Blake Road North in Hopkins. Other tenants in the building include SuperValu, NordicWare, Kotke Trucking and Hammond Cold Storage.
