"Veritas was looking for a location where it could consolidate its six offices located throughout the neighborhood into a single headquarters location," says FirstService Williams associate Eric Ferriello in a release. The nonprofit's main office is currently at 912 Amsterdam Ave. Ferriello adds that the 10th-floor space at 55 W. 125th enabled the tenant "to centralize its space in a class A building and still stay within its means."

Asking rents at the 14-story office property are $39 per square foot. The lease gives Veritas the right to expand on the remainder of the 17,000-square-foot floor. Along with the Social Security Administration, Pathways to Housing and the New York City Administration for Children's Services, other tenants at 55 W. 125th include former president Bill Clinton, who established his office there in 2001 after leaving office.

Veritas, which offers job training, educational and vocational skills and substance abuse treatment programs, was represented in its search for new space by Ferriello and his FSW colleagues, senior executive managing director Robert T. Tunis and senior managing director Richard M. Warshauer. Ross Jacobs was the in-house representative for landlord Cogswell Realty in lease negotiations, while Sheila Naysan was Cogswell's in-house attorney. Lawrence Lenzner and Kerri Alessi from Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP represented Veritas.
