NEW YORK CITY-SJP Properties’ 11 Times Square may be getting an assortment of marine wildlife along with office tenants. The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that Toronto-based Aquarium Developments Corp. says it has signed a preliminary agreement for a seven-story, $100-million facility on the lower floors of the 40-story speculative office property, which is scheduled to be completed later this year.

Jerry Shefsky, head of Aquarium Developments, told the WSJ that while the deal has not been finalized, he has lined up financial backing for the project and may start building out the space as early as this April with the goal of opening in September 2011. The idea would be to attract some of the 35 million people who pass through the Times Square area annually.
