Working Women The US Department of Education recently issued a report with a surprising and very important statistic: Steady increases among women with college degrees over the past two decades seems to have paid off during the recession. Government statistics show women fared better than men over the past year and, for the first time, surpassed the number of men holding payroll jobs. The study went on to report that women are earning a significantly higher number of degrees than men. According to the study, women were earning about 166 associates degrees and 135 bachelor’s degrees for every 100 earned by men in 2009.
