Greensboro, NCX-based Fresh Market will occupy the block under a long-term land lease, says Dale Scott, senior executive vice president of Deerfield Beach-based Sikon Construction. Sidewalks will surround the entire store, which will feature an atrium-style corner entrance upon completion in the fourth quarter.

"It's going into a very tight spot," Scott tells GlobeSt.com. "But it's going to blend very well with the area. It's going to be a neighborhood landmark, something people will be able to refer to."

The new Fresh Market will pursue LEED certification from the US Green Building Council. Sikon's previous LEED projects in South Florida include the 550,000-square-foot Promenade at Coconut Creek mixed-use development and a Publix Greenwise store in Palm Beach Gardens.
