Piedmont Town Center Earns LEED Gold

CHARLOTTE-The eight-story office buildings achieve USGBC certification after a 16-month process.

CHARLOTTE-Two eight-story office towers at Piedmont Town Center in SouthPark have been awarded LEED Gold certification for existing buildings by the US Green Building Council. The buildings total 415,000 square feet of office space as part of a mixed-use project.

“The LEED Gold rating puts the office towers among Charlotte’s elite green facilities,” says Pam Padgett, vice president of property management with locally based Crescent Resources. The buildings were developed in 2006 by Crescent and Lincoln Harris, also based in Charlotte, and are now owned by Des Moines, IA-based Principal Real Estate Investors.
