METROPARK, NJ-LaSalle Investment Management, an independent subsidiary of Jones Lang LaSalle, recently told GlobeSt.com that it has achieved LEED Silver certification for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance from the US Green Building Council at 333 Thornall St. here. The building, known as Metroview, is exclusively leased by Jones Lang LaSalle and is the only multi-tenanted building in MetroPark to achieve LEED Silver certification under the existing building standard. It is also the first property owned by LaSalle in New Jersey to achieve LEED certification.

LEED is the nationally recognized benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings. Certification for existing buildings helps building owners and operators maximize operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact, addressing whole-building cleaning and maintenance issues, including chemical, water and energy use, exterior maintenance programs and systems upgrades.

“The distinction of this property being the only office building in MetroPark to achieve LEED Silver certification provides it with a significant advantage in the marketplace, in that it is now able to meet the environmental efficiency requirements of today’s tenants,” says Kevin Carton, vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle, and leasing agent for the property. “The changes made at Metroview have improved air quality and reduced water and energy use, while providing a more productive work environment for building tenants, who have been very receptive to new protocols.”
