Starwood began construction two years ago on the high-end hotel-condo project, which replaced the Sheraton Bal Harbour. The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort is being promoted as the largest residential-resort project in the Southeast, with 270 private homes, 205 guest rooms, 37 condo-hotel units, a 12,000-square-foot Remede spa and large balconies overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay.

"This is an unparalleled location, and our continuing progress and achievements such as topping off have further fueled the sales interest and activity we are enjoying in 2010 as clients seek to secure the best of our remaining residences," says John Manrique, the resort's vice president of sales and marketing. He adds that the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort will feature the same "best of everything" service levels as its namesake hotel in New York City, including traditional English butlers.

The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort will join a select portfolio of St. Regis hotels in 17 locations around the globe. Atlanta, Houston and Washington, DC are currently the nearest locations to Florida.
