The Highland Heights, Ky.-based company designs and manufactures copper, aluminum and fiber optic wire and cable products for the energy, industrial, specialty and communications markets. The NorthPark building will serve as its Houston distribution center, according to John Talhelm, senior vice president of Jones Lang LaSalle's local office.

Talhelm and Kevin Erck, vice president of Jones Lang LaSalle, represented General Cable in the transaction. The landlord, ProLogis, was represented internally.

ProLogis NorthPark #8 is a 198,880-square-foot, tilt-up concrete warehouse/distribution facility located in far North Houston near Bush Intercontinental Airport with access to Interstate 45 and Beltway 8. Situated on 10.6 acres, the cross-docked facility features 26 dock doors, three ramps and a 28' clear ceiling height.

Talhelm tells GlobeSt. that the General Cable lease brings ProLogis NorthPark #8 to 50 percent occupancy.

Erck adds: "This property is attractive due to its location and easy access to I-45. The building has brand new office space, and we were able to take advantage of a quick transaction timeline for General Cable."
