$300M County Hospital Going Green

SANTA CLARA, CA-The county names a construction manager and sets a schedule for the new facility.

SANTA CLARA, CA-The County of Santa Clara has named a construction manager and set a schedule for construction of a new $300 million replacement hospital that will be designed for LEED certification. The construction manager is Turner Construction Co., which is slated to begin construction this summer, with completion scheduled for 2012.

The new facility will be a replacement hospital for Santa Clara Valley Health and Hospital System in San Jose. The 375,000-square-foot project will serve as a level one adult and pediatric trauma center specializing in burn, traumatic brain and spinal injuries. The 168-bed tower will include a rehabilitation therapy center, aquatic therapy pools, support offices and a pharmacy.
