STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ-Olive Garden has signed an agreement with the Walters Group to open a 7,600-square-foot restaurant at Stafford Park, located in southern Ocean County. Site work on the restaurant is expected to begin this fall, marking the start of a new construction phase at the retail complex.
This will be Olive Garden’s second location in the southern Ocean County market. There are several locations in New Jersey and more than 700 restaurants in North America. Dan Brickner of Metro Commercial in Mount Laurel represented the property owner, Walters Group. Jay Miller and David Orkin of RAS Brokerage in Plymouth Meeting, PA brokered the transaction on behalf of the tenant.
Olive Garden will be Stafford Park’s first restaurant to join the slate of solid tenants, consisting of Best Buy, Costco, Dick’s Sporting Goods, PetSmart, Target and Vitamin Shoppe. AT&T and Ulta are currently under construction with store openings projected in the fall of 2010. The center is situated off exit 63, at the southwest corner of the Garden State Parkway and Route 72 interchange.
"Olive Garden will make a major contribution to the ongoing success of this outstanding shopping center,” says Ed Walters, founder and partner of the Walters Group. “Although there are no commitments at this time, we do expect this opening to pave the way for other restaurants. There is a definite need in this area for more diverse dining choices.”
The planned 370-acre redevelopment here is the result of three years of negotiations with Stafford Township, the New Jersey Pinelands Commission and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. All construction for Stafford Park is expected to meet the standards of the LEED rating system. The retail portion of Stafford Park is registered with a certification goal of LEED Silver.
