SAN FRANCISCO-Liquid Realty Partners, a real estate secondary and recapitalization investment firm, has hired Mark Degner as managing director of acquisitions. In this role, Degner, will join the firm as a member of Liquid Realty’s management team and investment committee.

His primary responsibility will be leading the firm’s acquisition team in their pursuit of real estate secondary and recapitalization investments. Degner has approximately 25 years of experience and $13 billion in institutional real estate purchases and sales.

Degner’s transactional experience comprises all property types, and spans core through opportunistic strategies. He has transacted in most US cities, and was a portfolio manager for several European and Japanese investment programs, including several German funds.

Degner was previously with Morgan Stanley, where he spent nearly 10 years, ultimately as an executive director with senior acquisition and portfolio management responsibilities. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Degner held senior acquisition, disposition and portfolio management positions with ProLogis and the Trizec Hahn Corp. According to Scott Landress, CEO of Liquid Realty Partners, “We believe Mark will be instrumental to further developing Liquid Realty’s thought leadership and investment activity across all major markets, risk categories and property sectors.”

As GlobeSt.com previously reported, this isn’t the first time in recent years the firm has added to its acquisition staff. At the end of 2008, due to expected increased market opportunities arising from the current environment, the company added John Graham as analyst.
