EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ-Commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. has promoted David W. Bernhaut to vice chairman, based in the firm's East Rutherford office. Bernhaut, who joined Cushman & Wakefield in 1987, co-founded its New Jersey-based Metropolitan Area Capital Markets group.
Bernhaut is responsible for real estate investment service activities including the marketing of corporate and investment property in Northern and Central New Jersey; Westchester County; Long Island, NY; Fairfield County, CT; Pennsylvania; and New York City. His career achievements to date include $16 billion of investment sales involving more than 125 million square feet of retail, office, industrial, multifamily land and surplus corporate facilities.
During the past five years, Bernhaut and the 11-person Capital Markets group completed nearly 200 transactions totaling in excess of $9 billion. “In 2009, this team was involved in New Jersey’s largest office, industrial, apartment and retail sales, and achieved a 43% market share in the tri-state suburbs,” says Gil Medina, Cushman & Wakefield’s New Jersey executive managing director. “This success ties directly to David’s deep market expertise, analytical vision and the extraordinary respect he garners from clients and industry peers.”
