DALLAS-Industry veteran Jack Minter, managing partner at Stoneforge Advisors, has joined Peloton Commercial Real Estate as a partner and will help the firm grow its capital markets platform.

Minter will continue to run the advisory group of Austin-based Stoneforge Advisors alongside Managing Partner David Steinwedell. Stoneforge Advisors provides strategic direction to firms in their disposition, debt and acquisition efforts.

Peloton, which was formed in 2002 by T. D. Briggs and Joel Pustmueller, currently leases and manages over 18 million square feet of office and industrial space in Dallas/Fort Worth on behalf of institutional and individual investors.

"Our job is to add value to commercial real estate for our clients,” Briggs says. “By tapping into his years of experience on the capital markets side, Minter will enhance our service platform.”

Minter has 22 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry and has been involved in over $14 billion of sales or financing transactions. Most recently, he headed the investment sales units for the Americas at Jones Lang LaSalle and Trammell Crow Company.

At Peloton, Minter will focus on raising both debt and equity for the firm's clients and investments sales – both acquisitions and dispositions. He will initially focus on office properties with the expectation of moving into industrial, retail and multifamily as the market allows.

"We think there is an opportunity to focus on the investor side of the business," Minter tells GlobeSt. "We don't feel the bigger firms are focusing on investor business anymore. They're choosing to focus on the corporate and user side of the business."

Minter also will be involved in bringing on new property management and leasing assignments. Additionally, he plans to expand the Peloton platform to other cities in the Southwest including: Austin, Denver, Houston, Phoenix and San Antonio. "We'd like to expand our footprint," he explains, adding that the firm could achieve that objective either by partnering with existing local firms or bringing on local talent.
