BAYONNE, NJ-Bayonne Medical Center will soon welcome a new medical building. After a three-and-a half-hour public hearing last week, the project was granted unanimous approval from the Bayonne Planning Board, according to the project’s development manager and investment banker William Procida Inc., an Englewood Cliffs, NJ-based specialty real estate, investment banking and turnaround management firm headed by real estate developer Billy Procida. WPI was selected by the Bayonne Medical Center to oversee the project last fall.
WPI was joined in the presentation by the team’s architects, Ronald Schmidt and Michael Azarian of Ronald Schmidt & Associates, PA; traffic engineer Joseph Staigar of Joseph Staigar Engineering, LLC; engineer George Siller of BF Langan Consultants, LLC; and legal counsel William Finnerty of Hughes & Finnerty, PC.
The 50,000-square-foot building provides a unique model for a health center, transforming unused land into a revenue-generating space. The building, set to break ground in 2011, will house a surgery center, nursing school, hospital pharmacy and doctors offices.
Founded in 1995, recent WPI assignments include Metro Homes, GMAC Mortgage Group and Ritchie Capital. In March 2008, WPI sold its interest in Palisades Financial, which it founded in 2000 as a majority shareholder; Palisades formed and managed two highly successful private equity funds.
