OKLAHOMA CITY-In an effort to meet the tremendous demand for roofing materials and other building suppliers, Gulfeagle Supply Co. has entered the local market, leasing a 40,000-square-foot industrial building in Metropolitan Industrial Park.

The Tampa, FL-based firm saw an opportunity to expand its business after Oklahoma City suffered a devastating hail storm last month, according to Gerald Gamble, president of Gerald L. Gamble & Co. He negotiated the deal, representing both the tenant and the landlord, Scott Investment Corp.

Gamble, a long-time member of the Society of Office and Industrial Realtors (SIOR), was referred to Gulfeagle Supply by another SIOR member, Dan Spika, an executive vice president with Henry S. Miller Brokerage LLC in Dallas. Spika had worked with Gulfeagle Supply on a lease transaction in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and when the firm wanted to move into Oklahoma City, Spika recommended Gamble.

“The city has about $1 billion worth of damage from the storm, and a number of roofing companies have entered the market,” Gamble tells GlobeSt. “Gulfeagle supplies materials to these contractors, and although the company had plans to eventually expand to Oklahoma City, the storm gave them a reason to do so now.”

The building materials supplier moved into its new space today. Situated on three acres at 4265 Royal Ave., the two-story building offers roughly 35,000 square feet of warehouse space and 5,000 square feet of office space.

The 1980s-era building has been vacant since January when Kellogg left the building to relocate to a 70,000-square-foot build-to-suit. Gulfeagle Supply is making minimal tenant improvements including modifications to the office space to create a small showroom.
