DALLAS-Roadtex Transportation Corp. has signed three new leases to expand its distribution network throughout the southwest.

The Hillside, N.J.-based company leased a total of 35,000 square feet in Dallas, Houston and Oklahoma City. Previously, Roadtex had a 25,000-square-foot facility in Garland, TX, an eastern suburb of Dallas, that served the company’s clients in both Texas and Oklahoma, according to Bruno Ciacciarelli, president of RoadTex.

Roadtex, which delivers merchandise to retailers such as Wal-Mart, Costco and Walgreens, is required to meet strict delivery schedules. It runs more than 300 trucks out of 17 U.S. terminals.

Ciacciarelli tells GlobeSt. that the company decided to open facilities in Houston and Oklahoma City to better serve its clients in those markets and to relocate its existing distribution center to a more central location within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

The firm signed a three-year lease for 12,000 square feet in west Dallas at 10534 King William Dr. in the Interstate Distribution I industrial center. Located off of Northwest Highway, the new Roadtex Dallas location offers easy access to Interstate 35E and Highway 114.

“Roadtex was also looking to cut costs at their Dallas location,” Herzstein says. “Through comprehensive cost analysis, financial review and building qualification, we were able to relocate their Dallas terminal and save them tens of thousands of dollars in real estate costs, fuel costs and operating expenses.”

In Houston, Roadtex signed a three-year lease for an 11,670-square-foot distribution facility located at 4486 W 12th Street. Situated at Post Oak Business Center 2, the property offers Roadtex easy access to Northwest Freeway, Loop 610 and Interstate 10.

Michael Herzstein in Henry S. Miller’s Dallas-Fort Worth office/industrial division represented Roadtex in the Dallas and Houston leases. Adam Loew of ProLogis represented Post Oak Distribution Center 2, while Adam Graham of Lee & Associates represented Eastgroup Properties LP, the owner of Interstate Distribution Center I.

In Oklahoma City, Roadtex leased 10,000 square feet at 301 N. Rhode Island Ave. The facility is centrally located with easy access to Interstates 35 and 40. Brad Ashford of CB Richard Ellis’ Oklahoma City office represented Roadtex.
