FRAMINGHAM, MA-Move over mounties, Canada is about to get Marshalls. The TJX Companies, Inc. is planning to move its discount retailer brand Marshalls into America's northern neighbor. Currently Marshalls has 819 stores across the US and Puerto Rico. Marshalls will join fellow TJX Canada off-price retail brands Winners, HomeSense and STYLESENSE.

Carol Meyrowitz, president and CEO of the TJX Companies says that the company estimates the Canadian market can handle 90 to 100 stores, although TJX has not announced an official number for its expansion. Reports however say that TJX anticipates six new stores for Canada to open in the Spring of 2011.

TJX operates numerous off-price retailers throughout the US including T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, and A.J. Wright. TJX has been involved in a low global expansion, with 281 T.K. Maxx's and 19 HomeSense stores in Europe, as well.
