NEW YORK CITY-The Community Board 7 has voted 36 to two to reject Extell's eight-acre project in Riverside Center. The project will be approved only if CB7's modifications are followed. Extell is building a mixed-use project on the undeveloped land in Riverside South.

The developer had agreed to fund for only 75,000 square feet of school space construction. The board wants more commitments towards affordable housing and school space and more open space, which means excluding an entire building from Extell's plan. For the full story, go to The New York Observer.
