WEST DEPTFORD, NJ-Bensalem, PA-based industrial and commercial real estate brokerage firm Roddy Inc. recently represented SSM Industries Inc. in the acquisition of 1425 Grandview Ave. at the Mid-Atlantic Corporate Center here.
President Frank Roddy, who handled the transaction on behalf of the buyer, SSM Industries Inc., tells GlobeSt.com that the 46,142-square-foot, one-story building located on 3.19 acres was purchased for an undisclosed sum, and the seller was represented by David Ricci of the Flynn Co.
Pittsburgh-based SSM Industries--which manufactures HVAC ductwork, piping and supports--is relocating its Philadelphia operations to the West Deptford facility. Thomas Szymczak, president of SSM Industries Inc., says that the company’s decision to locate in New Jersey was driven by its desire to expand in the state as well as New Jersey’s Business Employment Incentive Program, which provides grants to businesses that create jobs in the Garden State.
“The grant provided to SSM over a 10-year period could amount to a very substantial sum and the projected new employment in the state is anticipated at 70 high paying new jobs,” says Szymczak, who adds that “the coordinated effort of the governmental bodies throughout the state, county and township on the project were extraordinary, from Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno, Gloucester County Department of Economic Development executive director Lisa Morina, West Deptford Township Mayor Anna Docimo and New Jersey Economic Development Authority representative Joseph Constance, who, along with NJEDA’s Harris Friedberg, played a major role in obtaining the BEIP Grant.
