NEW YORK CITY-The collapse of Sunwest Management Inc. last year has attracted many investors to purchase Sunwest's properties. A partnership between Blackstone Group and Emeritus Corp. is expected to close a $1.3-billion deal for 140 properties in Southwest this week.

Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services Inc. has already sold 11 properties, which were not part of the deal. Jeffrey Levine and investor John Berry have joined hands to purchase Sunwest Alzheimer's and assisted-living facility near Phoenix. For the full story, go to Wall Street Journal.
