UNIVERSITY PARK, TX-Officials from the city are hoping to raise rates on property tax by 4.89% as the revenue from uptown community is expected to fall. This proposal was put forward by City Manager Bob Livingston to balance the fall of 4.665 in the tax base.
Even with the increased rates, property owners will pay $31 less in 2011 due to the fall in property value. They expect the average tax base to fall by $147 if the rates are not changed. For the full story, go to The Dallas Morning News.
