ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS-AMB Property Corp., an owner, operator and developer of global industrial real estate, has leased approximately 139,900 square feet of its Europe operating and development portfolio. As of June 30, 2010, AMB’s portfolio in Europe totaled approximately 14 million square feet of operating and development properties in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK.

The recent leasing activity within AMB’s Europe development portfolio includes: 110,600 square feet of AMB Bleiswijk Distribution Center to Drake & Farrell Logistics B.V., a logistics provider. This facility is a newly developed, multi-tenant, warehouse located near Rotterdam. Logistics and distribution users such as Aldi, Frans Maas, Dachser Transport, Intertoys and Bos Transport are represented in the immediate vicinity; and 29,300 square feet of AMB Barajas Logistics Park to a leading provider of forwarding and logistics services. The development is immediately adjacent to Madrid’s Barajas International Airport. The lease was signed by a “top 10 global customer” who now leases from AMB in nine markets, however AMB wouldn’t disclose further details.

“We are encouraged by the recent leasing activity,” says Mo Barzegar, AMB’s managing director, Europe. “Our customers continue to be cautious about making long-term decisions regarding the take-up of space. However, location remains an important consideration as cargo-flow through the major European ports and airports continue to build.”

The AMB Bleiswijk Distribution Center is a newly developed, multi-tenant, state-of-the-art warehouse with office space in the Prisma industrial park in Bleiswijk. Logistics and distribution users such as Aldi, Frans Maas, Dachser Transport, Intertoys and Bos Transport are represented in the immediate vicinity.
