LONDON-InterContinental Hotels Group PLC said that its revenue per room or revpar increased by 7.4% in Q2 2010 compared to a 0.2% increase in Q1 2010. Revpar continued to increase with July registering an 8.1% increase.
InterContinental owns or franchises over 4,000 hotels worldwide under different brands including the Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza. Room rates, which dropped during the recession period, have begun to increase lately. For the full story, go to the Wall Street Journal.
