DALLAS-CASE Commercial Real Estate Partners, most recently known as GVA Cawley, has joined TCN Worldwide, a global network with more than 1,200 professionals serving 200 markets across the globe. The company replaces Henry S. Miller Realty Services as the TCN Worldwide affiliate serving Texas.

“We wanted to join a network that would allow us to serve the entire Texas market and maintain our independence and entrepreneurial spirit, and TCN Worldwide allows us to do that,” says Tom Sutherland, principal of CASE Commercial.

CASE Commercial’s decision to join TCN Worldwide comes on the heels of the firm’s rebranding. Just last week, the company announced a name change from GVA Cawley to CASE Commercial Real Estate Partners. Sutherland and John C. Conger acquired the 24-year-old GVA Cawley in 2008 from founder Bill Cawley.

The name “CASE” represents Conger and Sutherland Enterprises. The goal of the new name for the 85-person firm is “to enhance our brand and offer greater levels of boutique services in the Metroplex and other major Texas cities.”

In addition to its Dallas-Fort Worth headquarters office, CASE Commercial also has offices in San Antonio and Austin. It is one of the largest boutique real estate services firms in Texas.

Sutherland tells GlobeSt. that he and Conger began evaluating the firm’s network affiliation in late 2009 after noticing the GVA footprint in North America was shrinking. Moreover, GVA’s decision to sign an agreement with Cassidy Turley made the duo unsure of GVA’s future direction, he notes.

Under Sutherland and Conger’s direction, CASE Commercial began thinking about merging with a global firm or joining another network. "After exploring the global platform, we decided we didn’t want to do that because we wanted to continue to be a regional boutique firm serving Texas,” Sutherland says. “The size of the TCN Worldwide platform is actually larger than the GVA footprint, which is important to our national clients.”

Despite the name change and the network affiliation switch, Sutherland says one thing definitely won’t change at the firm: the delivery and quality of services the firm’s clients currently receive. “We look forward to taking an active role in TCN Worldwide, but the change will be seamless from a service perspective,” he explains.
