VERNON HILLS, IL-Wonderlic Inc., a personnel evaluation company, has signed an eight-year lease for new offices in a vacant building at the Continental Executive Park. The firm will take about 26,116 square feet of the 46,000-square-foot facility, formerly occupied by Baxter Credit Union.

Owner Pacific Realty Trust had been marketing the building as another single-user headquarters site, but after little interest decided to make the facility into multi-use, said Corey Chase of Podolsky Northstar Corfac International. “The market is soft everywhere in Chicago, and the north isn’t much different. The landlord rolled up their sleeves and did what they needed to do to get a tenant,” he tells GlobeSt.com. Chase represented the tenant in the transaction, and Michael Flynn and Jason Wurtz with NAI Hiffman represented PacTrust.

Chase says Wonderlic is expanding from a smaller space at 1795 Butterfield Rd. in Libertyville, IL into this nine-year-old building at 400 Lakeview Pkwy. The tenant will take the 23,000-square-foot second floor and 3,000 square feet on the first floor when it moves in January, with the rest of the space available. “One of the first things they said when we talked about their lease being up is that they wanted a better atmosphere and a better image, and this building fits,” Chase says. The asking rate at the building is $14.50 per square foot.
