Intrapreneurs - 08.24.2010 I was recently reviewing a management assessment of a candidate, and the report branded him an "intrapreneur". I admit that I had not run into that term before and learned that it refers to individuals who get new ventures started within organizations. They are "change agents" for driving companies into new or different paths and approaches to the business. In some camps, and in the wrong organization, an intrapreneur might be labeled as a troublemaker, or someone who "rocks the boat." The fact of the matter is that as we continue to emerge from the great recession, companies should be aggressively seeking out the intrapreneurs in their organization to drive change and adapt in a dramatically altered business environment. It’s no longer business as usual, and professionals who are inventive, highly adaptive and ready for change are the individuals that I want on my bench.
