HOUSTON-Over the past six months, a degree of uncertainty has crept into the Houston office market due to changes in the industry landscape.

The merger of Continental Airlines with UAL has caused the possibility of the company's Houston jobs moving to Chicago. In addition, companies such as Chevron are likely to downsize, which may lead to further trimming down of office space in the city. As a result, the economy in Houston has slowed considerably.
