There is a lot to like about a recent Fortune article on Walmart CEO Mike Duke. The guy runs the biggest company on the planet and still uses sticky notes. As a younger man he turned down a higher-paying job at Proctor and Gamble to get into retail. A well-placed Cocoa Puffs display can impress the guy.
But what caught our attention the most was the following statistic about the overall company: "To increase revenue by a modest 3% this year, for instance, Wal-Mart would have to produce additional sales of some $12 billion. That number alone would put a company at No. 194 on the Fortune 500 list."
That is really, really big.
