MIAMI-CB Richard Ellis has named Mary Jo Eaton senior managing director and market leader for its business lines in Florida. Eaton previously served as managing director of the company’s Baltimore office and its Asset Services operations in the Washington-Baltimore region.
Eaton will relocate to Miami and take the Florida helm on Jan. 1, 2011. She was named Asset Services Market Leader of the Year in 2009, recognition for driving growth and sustaining profitability in a down market. Eaton has overseen some of CBRE’s largest property management portfolios nationally, totaling 50 million square feet.
"Mary Jo has been a valuable contributor to our success in the Washington area," says John Germano, CB Richard Ellis’ senior managing director for the Washington-Baltimore Region. “She is an inspirational leader, prudent businessperson and strong manager, and these attributes will serve her well in her new role in Florida.”
Eaton joined CB Richard Ellis in 2005 as managing director of Asset Services in the Philadelphia Region. Prior to that, she was with Equity Office Properties Trust and oversaw its Philadelphia CBD and suburban portfolio through the successful disposition and eventual exit from the Philadelphia market. Earlier in her career, Eaton served as a vice president with Lincoln Property Company in Philadelphia and held management positions with Trammell Crow Company and Fox Realty Company.
“My hope and vision is to create even more value for our clients by connecting them across our vast enterprise,” Eaton tells GlobeSt.com. “Florida is geographically challenging. The cultures of each office are different. My goal is to connect our professionals and our clients across every service line and every geographic area.”
Easton reports to Jim Reid, president of CBRE’s US Eastern Division, with oversight of all CBRE lines of business operating within the area. Reid tells GlobeSt.com that Eaton is uniquely qualified to head the Florida market. “Mary Jo has handled very large geographies and multiple offices in a coordination role to connect our professionals on a very integrated basis,” Reid says. “She will make an impact on the Florida market.”
Eaton succeeds Bill Moss. Moss is relinquishing his Florida leadership role to focus on the Orlando office. Moss has run both the Florida operations and Orlando office since 2006. CB Richard Ellis is evaluating candidates for Eaton's two current leadership positions and expects to announce successors soon.
