Turner To Manage $4.2B Construction

SAN FRANCISCO-Turner Construction Co. is providing construction management services for the Transbay Transit Center in San Francisco, designed to be the “Grand Central Station of the West,” according to a prepared statement. The project is estimated to create more than 48,000 jobs in its first phase of construction, which is expected to cost approximately $1.6 billion, as GlobeSt.com previously reported.  

Replacing a terminal constructed in 1939, the 1.3 million square foot regional transportation hub is designed to serve more than 45 million passengers a year and connect eight counties and 11 transit systems, including the future California High Speed Rail from San Francisco to Los Angeles/Anaheim, CA. There will be no interruption in service while the Transbay Transit Center is being constructed.
