PANORAMA CITY, CA-Mission Foods, a Tortilla and corn flour manufacturer, has opened its new plant in the Valley's State Enterprise Zone in Panorama City, which becomes its fifth production facility in the Southern California region.

The company had spent $50 million for the development of the 200,000 square-foot plant, which complies with LEED Gold sustainability standards. The facility can reduce carbon emissions up to 1,250 metric tons. It also features solar rooftop panels, which can meet part of its electricity demands.
