SANTA MONICA, CA-Dean Pentikis has been named chief investment officer of Watt Cos. He will lead all financing operations for the company, including the development of new equity partners and the firm’s strategic acquisitions.
“In the wake of the credit crisis and ensuing commercial real estate downturn, we see tremendous opportunities ahead,” says James Maginn, president and CEO of Watt Cos. “Dean will complement our efforts by developing new investor relationships and expanding our reach throughout Southern California and across the US.”
Immediately prior to joining Watt Cos., Pentikis was partner and manager of the Los Angeles office for Apollo Real Estate Advisors LP, with primary responsibility for all equity and debt transactions in the West. There, he managed a portfolio of originated deals and legacy projects with total capitalization of more than $2.5 billion. He originated over a half a billion dollars of debt and equity for all different property types at Apollo, and oversaw the day-to-day management of funds invested in the US and Europe.
Pentikis has held several other real estate finance management positions at national and global organizations including Nomura Asset Capital, Deloitte & Touche and the Bank of New York. “We are thrilled to bring on a new member to the Watt team with such a depth of quality finance experience in the commercial real estate markets,” says Maginn. “Dean has originated and managed an incredible volume of deals throughout his career and delivered tremendous results. I am confident he will bring significant value to our team as we actively seek new opportunities.”
