HAMILTON TWP., NJ-With the arrival of a wrecking crew, the multi-million dollar expansion and renovation of Hamilton Plaza has been formally launched. While demolition is often bad news for commercial properties, it has ushered in a bright new era for the 184,272-square-foot shopping center located on Route 33 at the intersection of White Horse-Hamilton Square Road and it is indicative of a larger trend in retail real estate; namely, creating best-in-class assets.

"Hamilton Plaza will emerge as a brand-new shopping center," says Matthew K. Harding, president and COO for Levin Management Corp., exclusive leasing and managing agent for the property. "This renovation and expansion will result in a new, modern look and feel, while enhancing traffic flow in and around the property."

The partial demolition of a portion of the current building is just the start of a total renovation of the property. Additional space will be added to the building's rear, expanding the ShopRite superstore from around 50,000 square feet to nearly 86,000 square feet. The store will remain open for business throughout the renovation.
