PHOENIX-Grubb & Ellis Co. has hired six retail professionals to expand its service offerings throughout local market. With the new hires, the firm’s retail services platform consists of nine professionals including six tenant representation brokers and three investment sales brokers.
The new additions to Grubb & Ellis’s local office are: David Jarand, senior vice president; Bill Finch, vice president; Traci Russell, associate vice president; Jake Danovic, senior associate; Amy Dattilo, senior associate; and Alex Gonzalez, senior associate.
“With these new professionals, we can provide expertise across the retail spectrum, from big box to Hispanic-focused retail,” says Pete Bolton, executive vice president and managing director of Grubb & Ellis’ Phoenix office.
Jarand joins Grubb & Ellis after spending four years as a designated broker and principal of The Silk & Stewart Development Group, where he represented landlords and tenants in retail development and brokerage.
Finch and Gonzalez join Grubb & Ellis from Strategic Retail Group, a commercial real estate brokerage company specializing in retail leasing, investment services and land sales in Phoenix and throughout the state of Arizona. Gonzalez focuses on Hispanic retailers and communities.
Russell brings eight years of commercial real estate experience to Grubb & Ellis, and joins from Phillips Edison & Co., where she had leasing responsibility for a 1 million-square-foot portfolio and was recognized as a top producer among 35 peers.
Previously, Danovic was with Rein & Grossoehme, while Dattilo joins Grubb & Ellis from Cassidy Turley|BRE Commercial. With three years of experience, Danovic specializes in leasing retail shopping centers throughout the Phoenix area, and Dattilo, who also began her career in 2007, specializes in retail tenant representation.
“This is a teaming house, and the brokers are bringing in people they want to do business with,” Bolton notes.
For example, once Russell decided to join Grubb & Ellis, she went out and recruited Jarand to team with her. Finch and Gonzalez will continue the partnership they launched at Strategic Retail Group. Meanwhile, Danovic and Dattilo are actively seeking teammates and are talking with local professionals about joining the firm.
“My focus is to bring on three more retail professionals – one more investment sales professional to team with, and partners for Amy and Jake,” Bolton says. Over the past six months, Grubb & Ellis has recruited 21 professionals to its newly opened Phoenix office
