TEANECK, NJ-Cassidy Turley has promoted COO and principal David Simon to managing principal of the firm's New Jersey operations. He will be based out of the firm's local office but will continue to rotate his time among the Teaneck, Somerset and Parsippany offices.

“Over the past 40 years, David Houston strengthened the foundation of Cassidy Turley’s predecessor firm, David T. Houston Co., which was established by his grandfather and father,” Simon tells GlobeSt.com. “With integrity and wisdom, he offered innovative real estate strategies and solutions to countless clients that relied on his advice and direction. And while we continue to mourn his passing, it is in his memory that we will develop and fortify this company's presence in the New Jersey market.”

In his expanded role, Simon will be responsible for the performance of the company's business in New Jersey, which includes 28 brokers and 17 property management professionals. His priorities will be business growth, recruiting, operational excellence, client service and staff development. Additionally, Simon will work in partnership with the New York leadership team of Cassidy Turley.

Simon joined Houston & Co. in 2007 as COO and spent the past three years managing operations and growth. He was instrumental in helping execute the expansion plan, which culminated in March 2010 with the formation of Cassidy Turley. Prior to this, Simon was the executive vice president and managing director for Weichert Commercial Brokerage Inc. where he was responsible for overseeing the firm's office, industrial, land and investment divisions. He was also previously a principal with both Newmark Real Estate, which now operates as Newmark Night Frank, and Jacobson, Goldfarb and Tanzman.
