The Decade - 11.09.2010
It has been 10 years since the launch of GlobeSt.com, and what a decade it has been. GlobeSt.com emerged during the first technology boom and bust, and endured through the horror of 9/11, followed-by even more setbacks to the real estate industry. However, after those tumultuous first few years, GlobeSt.com reported on the greatest run-up in real estate history, only to see it end six years later with the greatest economic calamity of our time: the "Great Recession", a period that is still redefining the landscape of real estate industry. The decade also witnessed the near demise of news in print, and introduced the iPad which is going to redefine how we report and gather information. Finally, the decade ends with the real estate industry in consolidation. There are fewer, smaller companies, with the need for less people, and systemic changes in how we invest and operate. It's been quite a ride.
