TUCSON-Mintec, a local software engineering firm, has acquired a 20,271-square-foot showroom/warehouse building for its US headquarters expansion.

The company, which specializes in applications for the mining industry, paid $2.1 million for the 13-year-old building located at 3602-3616 E. Fort Lowell Rd. Mintec will occupy the building early next year.

Currently, Mintec occupies space at 3544 East Fort Lowell Rd. It will operate out of both buildings, which are situated across the street on either side of Richey Boulevard, creating a campus-like environment with a common parking area.
