PHOENIX-A team of multifamily experts from Marcus & Millichap has joined CB Richard Ellis’ local office to lead its Multi-Housing Private Client Group. Brian Smuckler, Jeff Seaman and Ryan Melkus will focus on multifamily deals smaller than $10 million.
Smuckler joins CBRE as a senior vice president and will lead the team, while Seaman joins as senior associate. Melkus will serve as a client services specialist.
“We saw an opportunity to offer an institutional level of service to our private clients and to enhance the value proposition with additional services available through CBRE’s platform,” Smuckler tells GlobeSt.com. “We’ll be able to increase our business with CBRE’s resources and support.”
Between them, Smuckler and Seaman possess more than 22 years of experience in the acquisition and disposition of multifamily properties. The pair is among the top producing multifamily specialists in metro Phoenix, closing 33 transactions year-to-date.
Smuckler previously served as director of Marcus & Millichap’s National Multi-housing Group. He spent 16 years with the firm focusing on disposition and acquisition of multifamily properties.
Seaman previously was a senior associate at Marcus & Millichap. He joined the company in 2004 and worked alongside Smuckler, focusing on transaction execution, comprehensive marketing, sales negotiation and asset analysis.
“We’ve always seen the strength of CBRE’s institutional group for multifamily, which works on much larger transactions,” Smuckler says. “They didn’t have any one to work on smaller deals. Now, CBRE has the ability to serve all multifamily clients, regardless of size.”
CBRE’s national Private Client Group has more than 85 teams in 54 markets.
