NEW YORK CITY-The Los Angeles-based AECOM Technology Corp., which acquired Tishman Construction Corp. for $245 million in July, is further solidifying its Manhattan presence by consolidating into a 108,631-square-foot space at 100 Park Ave. The 12-year lease represents a consolidation from several locations around Manhattan into the 36-story office tower.
The deal represents a homecoming of sorts, as Tishman was both the original builder on 100 Park in 1950 and the lead construction firm on the property’s repositioning at the hands of current owner SL Green Realty Corp. The renovation won the 2008-09 BOMA International award for the best renovated office building of the year.
The lease, which covers space on floors five and six and on floors 18 and 19, “completes the successful re-positioning of the building which was started in 2006 when we commenced a full scale property re-development, Steven Durels, EVP and director of leasing and real property for SL Green, says in a release. “The fact that Tishman Construction will relocate its headquarters to the building is a great testament to the quality of the building.”
Joseph Simone of Tishman Real Estate Services and Adam Foster of CB Richard Ellis acted on behalf of AECOM. A Cushman & Wakefield team of Tara Stacom, Paul Glickman, Mitti Liebersohn, Alexander Chudnoff, Diana Biasotti, Jonathan Tootell and Peter Alden represented SL Green.
Asking rents at the 825,815-square-foot property are $65 per square foot. Other major tenants there include BBDO Seidman, Wells Fargo, Aetna Life Insurance Co. and J&W Seligman & Co.
