ATLANTA-Transwestern’s Atlanta office has named a new director of project and construction management. Greg Osbourne will leverage his 27 years of experience in the industry to beef up Transwestern’s practice in the Southeast.

“The addition of Greg as a senior expert in the field of construction and project management provides us with valuable, value-add services that will benefit both our investor/owner clients as well as our office, industrial, and retail tenant clients,” says Bruce Ford, president of Transwestern’s southeast region.

Osbourne was most recently the owner and principal of Osbourne & Associates in Atlanta. For the past 10 years the commercial general contracting firm that bore his name specialized in office, industrial, medical, and retail construction.

“When the economy and the financial markets collapsed in 2008 and 2009, it became clear that I needed to close the company,” Osbourne tells GlobeSt.com. “I had a relationship with Chandler Spratlin, who started at Transwestern earlier this year, and he asked if I’d be interested in coming on board. I thought it was a great match.”

As Osbourne sees it, construction management is becoming increasingly important and competitive. He sees his job as coordinating all the pieces that have to come together in lock step to get a project completed on time and on budget. And he feels well-equipped to handle the task, even in a down market.

Prior to founding his own firm, Osbourne held senior level construction management, development, and property management positions with Taylor & Mathis. During his 16 years with the company, Osbourne specialized first in the development and property management of class A office and industrial buildings in the metro Atlanta area, and later in the company’s development and construction management duties.
